About the event
This workshop invites rangatahi (youth) to explore creativity through the design and creation of koru patterns using acrylic paint pens. Rangatahi will learn about the significance of the koru within Toi Māori (Māori Art), highlighting how the koru reflects the natural forms found in our environment and exploring how koru designs are embedded in traditions and identity. Through this experience, participants will not only develop artist skills, but also gain a richer appreciation of the use of Koru within Toi Māori.
Trudy is of Ngāti Porou descent, based in Waihōpai.
